In-Network Provider

BlueCross BlueShield & FEP Mental Health Providers in Las Vegas

Meridian Behavioral Health is a locally owned mental health clinic — not a national chain. Our board-certified providers Amy Wise, PMHNP-BC and Derek Wise, MA, LCPC proudly support Federal Employees, local union members, and out-of-state travelers. We are fully in-network with BCBS FEP, Anthem BCBS Nevada, and the national BlueCard PPO network. For general mental health information, visit the National Institute of Mental Health.

Specialized Support for the Federal Employee Program (FEP)

Las Vegas is home to a massive workforce of dedicated federal employees—from TSA agents at Harry Reid International to federal law enforcement, postal workers, and military contractors.

At Meridian Behavioral Health, our clinical director is a certified EMDR therapist with extensive professional experience supporting first responders and high-stress civil servants. We understand the intense burnout and trauma often associated with these careers.

Because we are explicitly in-network with the FEP Basic and Standard options, you can access top-tier psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and evidence-based trauma therapy without exorbitant out-of-network costs.

Trauma & EMDR

Discreet, effective trauma therapy designed for first responders processing critical incidents.

Psychiatry & Meds

Comprehensive medication management for ADHD, severe anxiety, and clinical depression.

Flexible Telehealth

Shift work making it hard to come in? We offer secure telehealth appointments covered by BCBS across all of Nevada.

Navigating Your BCBS Mental Health Coverage

We handle the frustrating insurance paperwork so you can focus entirely on your mental wellness.

1

The "BlueCard" Advantage for Tourists & Transplants

Did you just move to Las Vegas, or are you visiting from a state like California or Texas? If your physical insurance card has a "suitcase" logo printed on it, your home state’s BlueCross BlueShield PPO plan will pay for your mental health visits at our Las Vegas clinic at standard in-network rates.

2

Seamless Billing Process

We submit all medical claims directly to Anthem BCBS Nevada or your regional BlueCross administrator. You will only be responsible for your specific copay or coinsurance amount at the time of your appointment. No surprise superbills requiring you to fight for reimbursement.

3

No Referrals Needed

Because most BCBS PPO and FEP plans don't utilize a "gatekeeper" model, you do not have to waste weeks waiting for an appointment with a primary care physician just to get a psychiatric referral. You can book an appointment with our psychiatric nurse practitioners or therapists directly.

Disclaimer on BCBS HMO Plans:

While we enthusiastically accept standard PPO, FEP, and Anthem plans, certain highly-restricted regional HMO plans (like specific Medicaid-managed BlueCross plans from other states) may require strict referrals or may not offer cross-state behavioral health benefits. Calling our intake team at (702) 604-2498 is the fastest way to confirm your exact coverage.

BlueCross BlueShield Benefit FAQs

Answers to specific questions regarding the FEP plan and Anthem behavioral health coverage.

Does Meridian Behavioral Health accept BCBS Federal Employee Program (FEP)?+
Yes, our Las Vegas psychiatric clinic is completely in-network with the BlueCross BlueShield Federal Employee Program (FEP) Basic and Standard Options. We also accept BCBS PPO and local Anthem BlueCross BlueShield plans for both psychiatric medication management and psychotherapy.
What is my mental health copay with BCBS FEP Basic vs Standard?+
Typically, BCBS FEP Basic requires a specific, flat copay for in-network mental health professionals. BCBS FEP Standard may involve a coinsurance percentage after your annual deductible is met. Since amounts change, we highly recommend calling us at (702) 604-2498 so we can verify the exact copay associated with your specific federal employee ID card before your appointment.
I have an out-of-state BlueCross card. Can I still be seen in Las Vegas?+
In most cases, yes! Thanks to the BlueCard Program (look for the small suitcase logo on your ID card), we can seamlessly bill your out-of-state BCBS home plan as an in-network provider here in Nevada. Simply provide us your subscriber ID prefix and we will verify your nationwide behavioral health coverage.
Do I need a referral from my primary care doctor to see a therapist with BCBS?+
Most BCBS PPO and BCBS FEP plans offer direct access to mental health specialists. This means you generally do not need a referral from your primary care physician to schedule therapy, EMDR, or a psychiatric evaluation with us.
Are telehealth appointments covered under BlueCross BlueShield?+
Yes. BCBS and the Federal Employee Program cover comprehensive psychiatric telehealth appointments. Whether you live in Summerlin, Henderson, or rural Nevada, you can receive expert mental health care via secure video at the exact same out-of-pocket rate as an in-office visit.
