About Meridian Behavioral Health in Las Vegas
Comprehensive Mental Health Care in Las Vegas Since 2019
Compassionate, Evidence-Based Mental Health Services Since 2019
Meridian Behavioral Health is a clinician-led mental health practice serving Las Vegas and the surrounding Clark County area. Since 2019, we've provided psychiatric medication management and therapy with a straightforward mission: offer care that is thorough, respectful, and practical—so clients leave with a clear plan and meaningful next steps.
We understand that seeking mental health support can feel overwhelming. Many people in Las Vegas encounter long waits, rushed visits, and unclear treatment plans. Meridian was built differently—to offer thorough evaluations, individualized treatment, and consistent follow-up that focuses on real-life functioning, not just symptom checklists.
Mental health symptoms often overlap, and effective treatment begins with careful evaluation. At Meridian, we emphasize strong clinical assessment, clear communication, and consistent follow-up, all grounded in evidence-based care. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or complex diagnostic questions, our team takes the time to understand your unique situation and build a treatment plan that makes sense for your life.
Who We Are — A Las Vegas Mental Health Practice Built on Compassion
Meridian Behavioral Health is a locally owned, clinician-led psychiatric and psychotherapy practice in Las Vegas, Nevada. Founded in 2019 by Derek Wise, MA, LCPC and Amy Wise, PMHNP, our independent clinic provides comprehensive medication management, psychological evaluations, and trauma-focused therapy for adolescents and adults without corporate influence or restrictive session limits.
As a family-owned and operated practice, we are deeply invested in the Las Vegas community. We saw a gap in local mental health services—too often, care feels transactional, with rushed appointments and impersonal treatment plans. We built Meridian to offer a different experience: one that prioritizes time, expertise, and genuine connection.
We are not a private equity-backed chain or a remote telehealth startup. When you call us, you are connecting with a team that lives and works right here in Las Vegas. We understand the unique stressors of our city and tailored our services to meet the needs of our neighbors in Summerlin, Enterprise, Spring Valley, and across the valley.
What started as a commitment to better care has grown into a trusted practice serving adolescents, adults, and families. We are proud to be an independent Nevada practice, offering both in-person appointments at our our location and secure telehealth throughout the state.
Independent Nevada Practice
We are not affiliated with any national hospital chains. We are a fiercely independent, clinician-led practice. Our decisions are made by medical professionals, not shareholders, ensuring your care always comes first.

Our Approach to Mental Health Care
At Meridian Behavioral Health, we believe effective mental health treatment requires three essential elements: comprehensive evaluation, clear communication, and collaborative planning.
Thorough Diagnostic Evaluation
Mental health symptoms are rarely straightforward. Anxiety can mask depression. ADHD symptoms can overlap with trauma responses. We take the time to understand your history, current challenges, and treatment goals.
Shared Decision-Making
We clearly explain the benefits and limitations of different treatment approaches, potential side effects, what to expect, and alternative options. You're never pressured into treatment you're not comfortable with.
Evidence-Based Treatment
We use treatment approaches backed by research: CBT for anxiety and depression, EMDR for trauma, medication management following current psychiatric guidelines, and trauma-informed approaches.
Safety-Focused Monitoring
Every treatment plan includes safety-focused monitoring and clear follow-up planning. We track not just symptoms, but also functioning—how you're sleeping, managing work, maintaining relationships.
Strengths-Based Care
We recognize the resilience, resources, and capabilities you bring to treatment. Mental health care isn't about "fixing" you—it's about supporting your growth and helping you build the life you want.
Measurement-Based Care
When appropriate, we use validated scales and functional assessments that track your progress over time. This helps us see what's working and make adjustments when needed.
